Innovation Type: Technical solution (Electronic databases)
What is this innovation about?
The syn.ikia cloud hub consists of the following components:
The cloud hub therefore enables the dataflow between the building monitoring systems (BMS), the external cloud applications and the users of the cloud hub who are responsible for evaluating the results and make decisions on the observed outputs regarding the energy management of a building. Furthermore, the cloud hub is intricately connected to three other syn.ikia innovations: Grey Box models, Flexibility Function, Flexibility Index.
What kind of challenges it will solve if deployed widely
This solution is being demonstrated in new contexts, with several demo neighbourhoods and offering opportunities (monitoring, evaluation, and control) to different stakeholders.
The Cloud Hub described here also embodies the value created by other syn.ikia results, i.e., Grey Box models, Flexibility Function, Flexibility Index. The Cloud Hub plays the role of the enabler, the system that can make all other innovations work together.
Taking that into account, together they will:
The following users will find this innovation useful:
ICT companies, Energy Companies, Aggregators, Developers, Facility Managers
How has syn.ikia project impacted the development of this solution/ process/ tool?
The upload and visualization software has been implemented because of the syn.ikia project to further improve the experience and satisfy the custom need of each demo site. Also, the KPI computation tools had to be written in a way that they can be parametrized for each demo project’s unique needs. The diversity of the demo cases comes with the diversity of the input data format, creating a challenge to be handled by the software chain used in the syn.ikia cloud hub and resulting in a robust system which is able to deal with wide variety of data sets.
How can this innovation be used beyond syn.ikia project?
